Akira Update - I cried yesterday

Akira Update: I cried yesterday. Watching Akira eat for the first time on her own in over 3 months, unexpectedly tears welled up and the relief I felt palatable.

So seemingly an every day simple act so easily taken for granted. She had no sense of appetite and the drugs she had been on caused loss of olfactory senses and appetite.

To see her eat on her own, we've been hand feeding her every meal and she lost 5 pounds, moved me to tears. It has been so difficult watching her weight continue to decline. Now we can finally focus on weight gain. So so unbelievably relieved and happy.
