Been a long day with ups and downs

Been a long day with ups and downs, but mostly ups! Took Akira to the vet again for the day to monitor her, do laser therapy, change bandages/pain patch, etc. She was supposed to again spend the whole day there and they were so happy with her progress they were happy to release her early.

Akira was feeling so good and think we/she over-did it today. Have to remind her (and myself) it's only been 48 hours since major surgery. 2 hours before pain meds due and she started panting, shaking, and stressed.

On call doctor says she's been seeing Akira the past few days in the office and how good she looks and felt she over did it or everything is hitting her at once. Didn't feel she needed to go to ER tonight and to get a sedative just in case for the weekend tomorrow. Gave her water with syringe and that really helped and then re-applied Rescue Remedy (lots), laid down next to her bed and slowly she relaxed and is now resting. It's day-to-day roller-coaster and seeing just how major this surgery was and how grateful she is doing well.
