I wanted to be sure those of you who donated towards Akira's medical costs received the latest update on how she is doing. We really appreciate your loving support and donation! Thank you again for all your love, prayers, and kind donation, I am eternally grateful. ♥

For those of you who requested anonymous donations (and non-FB friends) and see this post, I am continuing to honor your anonymity and so did not tag you, however, please know that I am eternally grateful for your support and kindness, too!

This  brings you up to date since the last one about Akira's challenge of becoming addicted to prescription pain medications.

As we weaned her off the drug she began to have excruciating nerve pain and for weeks we were unable to get a handle on her pain (and were very sleep deprived), which is why I've been MIA and not posting for awhile.

We believe we are very close to having a pain management plan in place so she can get sleep and have pain relief to finally heal from her amputation.

There was a point in the last two weeks where Dr. Feinberg had concerns the cancer might have returned and was causing the pain, after a hospital visit, labs, and test we concluded it was not cancer causing pain. The challenge became how to manage the post-amputation pain to heal.

Thank you to everyone who has held space for us while we have been immersed in drug withdrawals and getting a handle on Akira's pain post amputation.
