Today was a good day!

akira and me

Today was a good day! It truly is the small things in life that matter.....

Seeing Akira calmer and doing "dog" things (i.e. walking, sniffing, laying on the grass, and yes even eating.....) brings such joy to my heart.

I used to measure "good" by achievement, success, and money.....what I realized it was an attempt for approval from others to feel worthy, loved, "good enough."

Over the years this premise has been challenged yet time and time again, bringing forth the questions of what is really true about self-worth, life, and what's most important.

Over the last 6 months this experience of Akira getting cancer, being amputated, and living through extreme caregiving conditions has been the ultimate challenge of digging deep into what is really important in life. LOVE. People and all living beings!

I'll admit having grown up with privilege and under an embedded belief that success and money determined one's value, the Universe has subtly and not so subtly knocked me on my head to get the truth...the point.

Putting money (and success) before people and others - and this includes my own self-care, too - is the very energetic that causes harm in the world.

It is the time in consciousness for us to see the true VALUE in others inherently as good simply for who they are and because they exist.
