When Akira was just over 1 year old

akira and me
When Akira was just over 1 year old she got very ill from pesticides the landscaper put on our yard. She was hospitalized and I was told might not make it. Thankfully, we had the support of a homeopathic vet (and pet intuitive/psychic) and over the next year was healed. She began eating all organic home-made food to heal her as well. This experience changed my life and I consciously went about clearing my home, yard, kitchen, environment of toxic chemicals and pesticide. This included all personal care items such as shampoos, lotions, and anything that is absorbed through the skin or air. Akira's body (like mine) is highly sensitive. Her skin is also sensitive and after years and years of struggle with skin inflammation I finally found the solution for a shampoo for her. It's a homemade recipe and thought I'd share for anyone else who also has a sensitive fur family member and love: Dog Shampoo 1 Tbsp – Baking Soda 1 Tbsp – Apple Cider Vinegar 2 Tbsp – Aloe Vera Gel 1.5 Cups – Water I wet her down and pour it through out her coat. Let it sit for 5 minutes and rinse. fyi - There's no suds (which is usually indicative of unnatural ingredients). p.s. This is a pic of Akira when she was just 7 weeks old! :)
